I have bought several of this vendor’s small dog hats and they fit my Papillon nicely. I eagerly ordered the pretty flower hat not once but twice. Each time the bill was too big and the crown too long, unlike my other purchases. I am deeply disappointed. Quality control needs a recheck.

These are super cute and does the job!! Took my dogs a few minutes too get used too (as with most things with dogs) but they kept them on all day at the beach!! Tip: if going to a beach or something outdoors, we put them on , on the ride to beach, by the time we got there, they were used to hats. ALSO, This way (just like with children) you are not fighting with them and getting sand and etc everywhere.

I really wanted to like this product! I go camping often, specifically in the summer time so I wanted my dogs to have a little extra protection from the sun. I bought the small black hat for my smaller sized pug. My dog did one small shake and the hat was leaning to the side, despite securing it with the tightener and placing his ears in the hole. I gave it 2 stars because it looks cute on the dog, but it is not functional at all.

We have a 5 lb toy poodle with a very small head. My husband once joked her head is the size of a nectarine, but that is probably accurate – lol! We live in Florida, and I have seen her squinting in the bright sun. I knew she would not tolerate doggy “goggle style” sunglasses, so I ordered a few different hats to provide shade for her eyes. This hat was the winner out of all of the ones I tried. It fits her small head well, the strap keeps the hat on tight, and the brim is actually wide enough and deep enough to provide sun protection. The trick is to keep the strap tight under the jaw bone. We are really pleased with this hat, and I can tell she is more comfortable in the sun.

This hat is just horrible. It had better reviews than competitors so I had high hopes, but I’m returning this thing. It is very much designed for dogs with high set ears. My golden retriever and labradoodle mix has side set ears and while the ear holes were big enough for the base of her ears, it didn’t fit right and crumpled her ears up and she was wiggling and trying to get the hat off as hard as she could. She’s a service dog and wears noise reduction headphones just fine, so the problem is not her refusing headgear in general. the problem is that this hat was so extremely uncomfortable. the bill of the hat covered her eyes like a blindfold. the curve of it is not contoured to a dog’s head, but more so to a human toddler’s head. The design doesn’t accommodate the fact that dogs have necks and their ears are not horizontally positioned. I think the best possible fit for this awful hat would be for a dog with a long neck and high set small ears. If that’s not your dog, don’t get this. Don’t torture your dog with a hat that can damage their ear structure. As someone with 23 years experience sewing, this is just poorly constructed. I wanted to avoid making one myself because the small garment will be difficult on my arthritic hands, but it seems that if I want it done right I have to do it myself.

See our photos. If your dog’s holding his head too low with this hat, or if the hat is just laying like a pancake on his head, I discovered it’s because the back of the hat is hitting him on the back of the neck in an awkward, uncomfortable way. This hat was designed for a rounded head and most dogs don’t have a round head, they have a wedge shaped head. So…I cut off the back of the hat and also cut off the part that goes over the top of his head between his ears. What is left is a visor with short sides that still have the straps for under the chin. Now we have a very nice little sun visor. This modification took 4 minutes and didn’t need any sewing. Just tiny sharp scissors :). My pup wears it this way very comfortably because he can now hold his head in a normal position. Also this allows his ears to be free and move around, which is a must for all doggies 🙂 His favorite sunglasses fit under the visor and complete the sun protection and the fashion statement lol
