We bought these socks for our golden retriever after we had our hardwood floors resurfaced. Our contractor recommended that our dog wear socks for at least 30 days while the coating on the hardwoods cures. Here’s our impression after four weeks of use and wear:

    Pros:
    – They’re easy to put on the dog, because they’re stretchy, they have treads all over (such that there isn’t just “one way” to put them on), and the Velcro is sewn on to the socks so you don’t lose or fumble around with the Velcro strap.
    – Because the socks are stretchy, one size fits all four of our dog’s feet. We tried some more-durable, “formed” dog shoes, and we discovered that our dog’s back feet were a full size smaller than its front feet, such that the shoes were too big for the back feet and would fall off easily. That isn’t an issue or problem with these socks.
    – Unlike some other socks, the Velcro hooks face inward and thus cling to the socks. We’ve bought some other socks and shoes in which the Velcro hooks face outward, and with those, the hooks often cling to a rug or mat when the dog lays down, which can fray the rug or mat and sometimes pull the sock off of the dog’s foot.
    – They’re apparently comfortable for the dog, and our dog adapted to them very quickly.
    – They provide the dog with ample traction on the slippery, newly refinished floors.
    – They protect the floors from the dog’s nails.

    Cons:
-They’re flimsy and disintegrate easily. The lower half of the sock (with the treads) wears and develops holes quickly even with mild indoor-only use. It develops holes pretty quickly from the inside of the socks from the dog’s nails, even though we keep our dog’s nails trimmed. If the dog feels an itch in her paw and tries to mouth or gnaw it (as dogs do), the sock develops holes quickly and with no real “chewing.” We solved that issue by spraying “bitter apple” on the socks, but it requires a lot of bitter apple to spray the front and back of four socks, and that adds to the overall expense of the socks. To my surprise, the package for these socks suggests that the socks are suitable for use on pavement. We haven’t purposely used these socks outside or on pavement. But on one occasion, when I was putting the socks on our dog in our garage, she escaped and scampered around outside on the pavement for a few minutes. By the time that I corralled her, the bottom half of the two socks that she was wearing were totally decimated. If you’re thinking about using these socks on your dog outside, I’d think that these socks would deteriorate very quickly on pavement, even during a basic walk.
    – They’re expensive and a terrible value over time. Because of the issues described above, we’ve gone through *six sets* of these over just *four weeks.* If we were inclined to have our dog wear socks on our hardwoods permanently or during a longer period, the expense of these socks (particularly when you include the expense of dousing them with bitter apple) would not be sustainable for us.

Bottom line, I think these are a great product for very-short-term indoor use. Unless you have tons of cash to spend on dog socks, I do not recommend these socks for longer-term indoor use. (I’m still searching for my long-term solution!) I would not recommend them at all for outdoor walks on pavement.

Our senior dog has a condition that causes him to knuckle his back paws, and he is getting progressively worse. We have tried numerous products (socks) to protect his nail bed and to give him support /stability on his hind end. These are the first socks that have actually worked! The traction material around the entire sock is brilliant, and the velcro strap keeps them on. We also love that they are a high percentage of cotton, so they are breathable.
The only drawback is our dog now has enough traction to get jump back up on our counter and get the dog food! Thank you DOK!!!!

Best product out there that protects your dog from slipping on tiles . I am thankful to the person who designed it . Just that the delivery took a lot of time .

They fit, are easy to put on, stay on, and despite twisting slightly once in a while, have enough rubber on all sides that the twisting doesn’t prevent them from providing the necessary traction to keep your pooch from slipping. Haven’t had a single issue since we put them on our dog. The rubber is very grippy and works very well on ceramic tile. Our dog’s nails started poking through another brand sock in a couple days, and when those twisted, they only had rubber on one side so they failed to prevent the dogs from slipping. They actually made it worse when they weren’t oriented properly. We’ve had these for a week with no issue whatsoever. They are so nice, we ordered a second pair so we had a clean set for our dog to wear while the first set is being washed.

our dog charlie is getting up there in years, and his hips aren’t as stable as they used to be. slippery wooden floors (like ours) have been giving him trouble for the past year or so, and we’ve laid down runners and rugs and yoga mats all over the place to keep his feet from slipping out from under him.

we tried out these tiger toe socks to see if they’d help him stay stable an upcoming road trip, and wow, they work amazingly well. the grabby tiger stripes don’t just help the very base of his paws grip the floor…they wrap all the way around the sock, so even the sides of his paws snag some traction (a great idea, if you’ve ever seen your dogs paws kind of get away from them.

they’re easy to put on and simple to fit/fasten with the nifty velcro belt. and they must be comfortable, too–charlie’s worn snow boots before, and he hated them and gnawed on them to try to get them off. but he dances around happily in his tiger toe socks.

VERY highly recommended. if you have a dog who struggles with slippery floors, do both of y’all and favor and check these out!

tip: do take the time to trace your dog’s paws (as the DOK people recommend), measure, and consult the little sizing chart before selecting your dogga’s sock size. i would totally have guessed that charlie would need the XL tiger toes, and i would have been wrong.

This is the second pair of socks I have purchased. The first where size large and they fit very well but are just a bit trickier to put as my dog has very fluffy feet! I then ordered the extra large and they are easier to put on but a bit too roomy for her feet. I only use them on her back legs to give her support on our hardwood floors. She is 13+ and an amputee. They work really well for hardwood; however, she is a very sensitive dog so does not really like them so will chew on the toes. Also one boot wore through because her claws are too long. I would definitely recommend these to others. Thanks you for a great product that works.

I’d gone through 2 other brands of booties for my dog who is recovering from an illness. The first one were pretty useless and super expensive. Once it turned, which it always does, there was no grip. The second ones were better. Good grip even if it turned but as with the first, were hard to get used to, so the weird gait and as it was all silicone, a bit hot and got chewed out. Tiger Toes are comfortable, grip despite turning and STAYED one even tho it is sock material and NO weird gait. He got used to them pretty instantly. Life saver, back saver. I highly recommend them for indoor use (outdoors he had enough grip anyway) on slippery floors.

I like these because they protect the paws from weeds and hot roads with the rubber surface. They definitely stay on with the straps. Only issue is this is my 3rd time buying because they are too small in width. My 40 pound doodle is a 2.4 paw size so I ordered a Medium. Couldn’t get it on, so I returned and ordered a Large. Large fits a bit better but is a hassle to get on him, regarding the width part. I missed the deadline to return those. Just ordered an XL. Will update review when I receive them. They did get a hole first use from his nail puncturing it, but then again they we’re probably too small and jammed in there. Fingers crossed this larger size works. Great idea for a product. I understand not all paws are created equal so giving another go and will update.
