    Maisie, my 11.5 lb Maltipoo, is wearing a size medium. Her neck measures 11”, chest 17”, and neck to tail 18”. According to the size chart, she should wear a large, but I had to exchange it for a medium, which fits her comfortably. The sweater has a nice weight to it, not flimsy, making it suitable for northern climates. The color is a muted green, although I’m unsure why there are price variations for different colors. I would recommend this dog sweater as it is well-made, very soft, and Maisie seems to like it!

It’s warm without being too thick—just perfect. I loved it so much that I bought another color. We chose pink for my little Bichon and have a navy one on the way. I rely on reviews for sizing, so I hope this helps someone else. I ordered a small, which fits perfectly with her measurements: chest 16″, neck 11″, back 12″. Although she typically dislikes wearing clothes, she doesn’t mind this sweater, thanks to the non-snug collar. The collar is similar to those calming neck wraps for pets, which seem to soothe her. When it’s cold outside, she definitely needs something to wear, especially after a haircut.

The extra-small red sweater aligns with the size specifications for our Chihuahua but actually fits our larger dog better. We are donating the small size and will try a size smaller. Our dogs have small torsos, so most sweaters are loose, cover their “parts,” and end up getting peed on. Our search continues, but these sweaters are well made, seem durable, will keep the dog warm, and look nice.
